Has there being any spillage near the center console like coffee or soda? If so the ignition lock cable could be stuck. You need to remove the cover around the gear selector handle and look inside towards driver side. Put key in ignition and turn to run. You should see a red cable move and when you pull the key out should see it move back. If not then get some WD-40 and spray in there and try and clean up the best you can. If the cable is moving free then the microswitch is bad and would recommend taking it to a repair shop for this repair.
