Hi.I have a 2000 Volvo S60 5cyl. Auto. I'm getting a surging idle only when in park or neutral. Engine will surge up to normal idle then decline. It is a constent surge. This does not seem to happen at all in gear. I was wondering if maybe the throttle body was dirty or maybe a sensor you may know about.

Thanks,

Dave Allen

You could have an issue with throttle itself. Looking by the year on your car the extended warranty may be due here soon. The electronic module has a 10 year/200k mile warranty on it so I recommend you call Volvo to verify if the warranty is good? If it is they need to do some tests on the throttle to verify it is failing. Good luck.
