2002 Volvo S40 Car doesnot have enough compression

Hi there

my car just stopped and could not start again, when we checked the compression it was too low. I just reconed the head but it is still loosing compression.

what could possibly be the cause. "the pistons have a little bit of play.

please help

A compression leak test applied to the cylinders to see if compression is goin by the rings to the crankcase would tell you for sure, however a complete overhaul would cure all problems.
