2000 Volvo S40 Dead Battery/ Lights & radio out

Electrical problem
2000 Volvo S40 4 cyl Automatic 169000 miles

The car wouldn't start. It made a clicking noise, the headlights would come on, but it wouldn't turn over. We replaced the battery. Immediately after replacing the battery a few things stopped working. The doors won't lock, but the remote start works. The radio & interior lights won't work. And the clock & trip odometer reset to 12:00 & o miles everytime the car is started. I have looked at the fuses under the steering wheel & on the engine. All fuses are intact.

I looked at the wiring for courtesy lamps, check for voltage at the fuse circuits, use a voltage tester. The fuse location is in the diagram. I believe one goes hot when you turn on the key, the other two are hot all the time. Don't know if trouble codes would help or not?

Look at the +30 cable on the battery positive cable. It piggy backs on top of the positive terminal and the wire goes to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Make sure those cables are all clean an tight and double check battery terminals as well to make sure they are tight. Remove the fuse box lid in the engine compartment and look for the hold down nut for the +30 cable inside. Make sure that is tight and pay close attention to see if there is corrosion or burnt marks from getting too hot due to high resistance in the cable. If you see signs of that, replace that cable as a sarting point. If you do not get proper voltage to that fuse box then everything else goes with it? Also what is the voltage the alternator is putting out?
