My vehicle is a 1994, Volvo, 940, Turbo, 4 door, with 200,000 miles. Engine is a B230FT. It recently threw the alternator belt which I repaired. The car starts fine, goes into gear fine (automatic trans) runs fine goes into Park fine and turns off fine. Ignition key won't come out. I tried unhooking/rehooking the battery. I tried jacking around with the steering wheel and gear shifter. There is a shift-lock fuse which I did "not" check because according to the manual, other items on the same circuit are still functional. (Eg: turn signals)

I am a broke, Paramedic Volunteer and it would be a drag to have my car stolen off a scene. The Volvo dealership will gouge me. Thanks ahead folks!

The key might be stuck in the ignition cylinder with the key in the off position where it would normaly come out, try a little lube onto the key, work the key in and out as much as possible, working the lube in. Not sure if this is the problem, but its worth a try.
