We tried to jump start our Volvo but had the cables crossed positive to negative. What part is most likely to fail because of this? We suspect that it may be related to the relay part number 899931. Please let us know where to look for the problem.

When we try to start the car there is no response what so ever. Nothing happens, no noise and no lights or anything.

You really could provide more information, like what the car is doing as you try to start it, etc.

The pcm can be blown by crossing the cables. Follow up with Bruce's request to help nail it down instead of a magic bullet.
