VW Passat 2002 4cyl turbo 125,000
I need to change the outer cv boots which are torn. I was trying to take front wheel off and striped a lug nut. I proceeded to hammer a socket onto the lug nut and all that did was break the socket. I was using a 4 way to take lugs off with no luck, what else can I try?

Get a dremel tool or a steel file. Saw or cut a line through the middle of the lugnut. then just use something durable enough to wedge in the newly created crevice and loosen the lugnut. To make your job easier, you can get Anti-Freeze Lubricant for rusted and tightly fastened bolts at your local walmart or auto parts store. That stuff really helps! Hope this helped ya out!
