Cant get my car in reverse!

I have a 2001 Volkswagon jetta with 70,000 miles on it. I have been having problems putting it into reverse. Its not consistent but frequent when I go from drive to reverse. I had the trasmission fluid checked and filter changed. I also had them check codes still nothing.

The problem is probably in the shift linkage under the lever. Some times after miles the linkage moves with wear. Remove the console covering the shift lever and check the movement to reverse. There is a clamp that might have slipped. Good luck
