I drive ~40,000 miles per year, and keep my cars for 200,000 miles. I live in northern Vermont, so I drive in a lot of "weather". I carefully maintain my cars so that I can count on them - I find myself in very isolated places, often in harsh weather conditions, and am willing do what's needed to keep my car reliable. That said, I spend A LOT of time in the shop doing regular maintenance.
So. I've been reading about synthetics, particularly AMSOIL, and their 25,000 mile guarantee (oil + filter, .). What do you think of this? Are there other items that need more frequent maintenance?
I am about to buy a CC, and I'd really love a maintenance plan where I only need a service every 20,000 miles without sacrificing reliability. Although I don't want to go overboard, I am not doing this to save money (although that would be nice!). I am doing it to save time.
