honestly the best possible solution is to take it to a shop that specializes in european cars the problems and codes you described mean several different things that are not always easy to diagnose. Dont take it to the vw dealer this is not cost effective and should only be considered as a last resort. Your best bet is to find a specialty shop in your area that has a good reputation. more than likely however these problems will cost a considerable amount of money. the engine reving up on the highway is related to your transfer case contact plate and incorrect gear ratio codes the dying at idle is related to your mass airflow meter this problem usually occurs when air filters are not changed regularley on some european models it is related to oil going past a malfunctioning oil seperator and onto the hot film on your mass airflow meter a dirty air filter will cause this because when debri is allowed to cover the sensors resistor which meters the air entering the engine the computer cannot calculate the appropriatte fuel mixture therefore causing the engine to run lean unfortunately you connot correct this on most mass sensors by cleaning them they must be replaced some american mass sensors may be cleaned but the one you have in your car i believe is a hot film type which when cleaned will destroy the delicate surface of the sensor rendering it useless also the o2 sensors being swapped code i am not familiar with if the code means what it sais it would seem that problem would be easy to fix simply by swapping the connectors to the upstream o2 sensors however i dont think its going to be quite that simple anyway i hope this helps i run a shop specializing in european cars in texas if your in my area stop by or check out the website eurasianmotorworks.com
