1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I need to have a key made for the ignition. Where is the code located to have one made? If I buy another ignition switch/key how hard will it be for me to replace the old one?

On pre 70s karmann ghia you have to open the hood. Remove the cover, remove the two securing screws then the switch will come out. Before disconnecting the wires check the new switch to make sure the old wires go on the same way.
