Is there any way to find out if this is the original motor that is in this vehicle?

Hi,

The engine code, G, indicates a 3.6L V6 engine which the vehicle came with. The engine code is the 8th digit in the VIN number. See pic 1.

As far as determining if it is the original engine, starting in 1981, the VIN number is also stamped on the engine block.

As far as location, it is different for different models, so I can't be certain. Often times they are stamped near where the water pump attaches to the engine block. The number will be on the engine block.

Let me know if this helps. Also, sorry I couldn't be more specific. Let me know what is going on and maybe it will help me.

Take care,

Joe
