Starts then shuts off. When trying to start again it just cranks but won’t start. Spray injector cleaner and it’ll start for a moment.

Hello,

If the vehicle is starting with injector cleaner and then stalls, you aren't getting fuel to the engine. The most common cause is a bad fuel pump. What I suggest is this. Since it could but unlikely be a computer related issue with fuel injection, we need to first check fuel pressure. Here is a link that explains how it is done:

I need a bit of information from you to continue. First, the term Laredo indicates a package your vehicle was ordered with when it was new. I need to know the model. Is it a Cherokee, grand Cherokee, wrangler, and so on. Also, engine size is needed. You indicated a .6 L which isn't a option, and 4 cylinder which is not common unless it is a wrangler. Let me know that as well.

Once I know the model and engine size, I can get you the manufacturer's specs as far as fuel pressure, specifics for testing pressure, and so on. I have a feeling it is the pump, but want to be sure of the vehicle type before I continue and give you inaccurate information.

Let me know. I'll watch for your reply.

Joe

This clearly sounds like a fuel issue. We just need to be sure it is a pressure issue and not a delivery issue. Let's start with checking fuel pressure. I attached the spec but you should have north of 50 PSI.

If you can't get a fuel pressure gauge right away, there is one way to try to point towards a pump and that is to cycle the key about 5 times then trying to restart. This will cycle the pump and sometimes they are able to build the pressure again to cause it to start. It may stall again but at least that confirms building the pressure is making a difference. At that point, I would put a pump in it. However, let's see if we can get the pressure first and then go from there.

I attached the process for the pump just in case we prove that out. Thanks
