Vehicle hesitates on acceleration cold or hot but sporadically. Also, vehicle at idle (in park, headlights on and A/C running on medium speed fan). When I restarted the minivan it was fine. But, acceleration still jerks van forward and fuel consumption is greater now.

Good morning.

Is the check engine light on? If it is, can you get me the code?
There are many possibilities. Idle air control valve, low fuel pressure, timing, all these are good possibilities.

Lets start with codes if any are stored. You can go to a parts store and they will read them for free.

Hello OSCAR DOMONDON,

If you decide you would like to conduct the scan yourself here is a link to an article from this site that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself. Also, I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

Once you have the codes please get back to us with the code number(s) so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.

Kindest regards,

Renee

I took my van to a local repair shop. The mechanic diagnosed the misfire/hesitation to be: bad coil pack and spark plug wires. Also he cleaned the throttle body housing with throttle body cleaner and scanned the system again after replacement of coil pack and plug wires.
