2000 Vauxhall Zafira front rattle

I have a strange large clanging sound from under my zafira, this seems to happen more if I drive through potholes or over speed bumps.

it sounds like its coming from the front area.

i have had it on a ramp and had the exhaust checked but nobody seems to know where its coming from.

but it wasnt there when I baught the car.

i would be very grateful for any advice on this matter.

Have a garage raise the vehicle on a hoist and check the coil spring and suspension for damage/loose mounts and bushes etc. .. this is best done using a pry bar !!

Hi. I also had a rattle on my zafira wich was made worse from pot holes. It was the rear on mine and after taking the wheel of found that the piston was slightly siezed so the brake pad was rattlin within the caliber. A quick clean up and hey presto no more rattle. Hopes this helps

Thanks for the reply guys, I had the car checked twice and found that I needed 2 front coil springs as both had snapped, also had the track rod ends replaced which removed a little play I noticed in the o/s wheel.

Its now as quiet as a mouse!
