Engine Cooling problem
1998 Vauxhall Omega Two Wheel Drive Manual 130000 miles

Dear 2 Car Pros

I would like some advice about an S Reg 2.5 litre Vauxhall Omega Estate.

The water pump needs replacing as does the drive belt.

I have removed the Carb Air Intake hoses so as I can see the area clearly.

However, the pump is halfway out of its housing and I am unsure of how I can remove it safely.

You're advice would be crucial.

Thanks

Hi Dave H

Please excuse my lack of technical description of the problem, I am a DIY kinda guy on a budget.

I have purchased a new water pump and recognise what is going on in the parts of the pump I cannot see.

I now understand that I need to secure a spanner on the lug and then unscrew the 3 retaining bolts located around the lug.

Then I shall be able to access the other 3 bolts that mate the water pump to the engine.

Thank you very much for replying to my question. Nice to see that people still care.

Regards

Mike.
