Each time I reverse from driveway or a parking space, My 2007 vauxhall will make a clunking in the front at the moment the steering wheel is returning to the straight position (with car going forward). It is not only happens during the first reverse after turning on engine. I will not hear any noise if I do turning the steering wheel while the car not moving. However, sometimes happen when I first go out after parking the car for 2 days or a while and starting to go out from the garage and turning the steering wheel right or left. It may not be just reverse- it may be actually associated with a sharp turn. My dealer says it is quite common and it is normal. Anybody has the same experience or opinion?
cause I do not believe the dealrship, cause that sound was not exist at first time I bought this car.
I also did some inspections about FWD suspension parts, what made worried is the mechanic, told me there is no problem at your FWD suspension, and about the CVJ he also checked this out by driving the car and made a lot of continuous turnings left and right, he said if it is the CVJ it would make clicking sound that is constant and always appear everytime the car is moving. He also checked the ball joints and control arms bushings. Something else I will add is that the dealership changed the front wheel bearings although there were no problem from this bearings and he told me that it is the warn part making you that sound. Unfortunately the clunking sound stopped for only a short period of time and now it came back.
Also about the clunking sound I am suffering from, is NOT CONTINUOUS as it comes once a time not punch of continuous clunks" and this only happens while the car moving or while I only do a sharp turn while I am driving straight for a period of time not continuous turns.I am afraid it could be the PINION STEERING WHEEL because it costs too much although I still in the guarantee period. Could it be the PINION STEERING WHEEL?
I appreciate your help.
