1998 Vauxhall Astra EGR VALVE

Hi there, My EMS light comes on and off daily. My Astra is a 2litre TD but the Turbo does not kick in. I have had this checked by a mechanic and he has said that the turbo looks fine. He suggested that it could be my EGR Valve but he isn't sure. My car is losing power, especially up hill. It seems as if the diesel is not going through to the turbo and feels very sluggish. Could you please give me some advice as I want to correct the problem asap.

Start by replacing the fuel filter and adding a good diesel fuel addative to the tank to clean the fuel system ! Also have the car plugged into a diagnostic computer to see if your cars computer has any fault codes stored !
