I purchased a salvaged the vehicle listed above and it was missing the front passenger side seat. Under the seat resides the OCM (Occupant Classification Module). I purchased a used seat with a used OCM and installed it. After installation, I got an airbag warning on the dash, so I checked with my code reader and getting a B2206-Current VIN Missing/Mismatched DTC. The used OCM has the VIN from its original vehicle and it does not match the VIN of my vehicle. After reviewing the Mopar shop manual, the fix for this appears to be to purchase a brand new OCM and seat kit (about an $800.00 part) and have the dealer install and program the virgin OCM with my VIN. However, the dealer service told me that if the VIN in the OCM could be updated with my vehicle's VIN, the DTC should go away. I am trying to see if someone can tell me which (if any) of the diagnostic tools (Snap-On, Autel, etc) can rewrite the VIN in the OCM. I also have the option of pulling the module and finding somebody to update the EEPROM where the VIN resides, but that's a lot more work--and so, far, I haven't found someone that is willing to do that, either. Thanks much.
