I have the car listed above 1.4l turbo. The turbo completely went out and decided to replace it I bought new one off Amazon it is not OEM. But checked the oil feed lines and coolant lines replaced ones that was clogged, got everything back together. Followed start up instructions of startup oil and let idle with no throttle for 2 minutes. Sounded fine after went down the road and while into the throttle in gear has a loud whistle that it never has before. Could this be from new turbo and waste gate not being original? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advanced for any information.

Hello,

It is a possibility the noise is due to an aftermarket turbo and wastegate.
As you know many aftermarket components are designed to sound certain way. Also the factory setup is always muted to meet NVH standards.

If you can upload a video with the sound, that will be helpful.

Thank you.

It could be the turbo, however I would check all the gaskets and tubes on the pressure side of the system first, you could have a small boost leak which would explain the sound.
A video of the sound would help, if you have someone who cam work the throttle while you look around under the hood with a light and camera it helps.
