When should I get a tune-up?

I've had the car since 2007 and have never gotten one. The manual doesn't specify, unless a tune up is broken down into individual maintenance recommendations. The only symptom I'm experiencing now is a low tremor in the engine, especially when idling. Thanks to all who reply.

Hello, with the age of the vehicle and the mileage now is a good time to replace the Spark plugs, the air filter, Fuel filter and an Oil change. They mention the oil change because a lot of people don't realize how important it is. There are blow-by gases that get by the piston rings and that blow-by gas gets mixed into the oil. This thins out the oil eventually. It happens with every car, so it's not a major concern if you keep up with it. i would also recommend changing the spark plug wires while doing the spark plugs. Everything wears out eventually.
After replacing all these parts, the car may run a little differently until the engine's computer (ECM) learns the new fuel strategy. but if you still have any running conditions after the tune up, let us know. You don't want to let misfiring cylinders go. That's what you are starting to feel in the engine. Its cylinders not contributing as much as the rest and that's when you will start to feel a little shake or unstable idle. If the condition is let, go for too long it can cause permanent damage to the Catalytic converter, and they are really expensive. Also, put some fuel system cleaner in with a full tank of gas. These cars are known for the fuel injectors getting clogged up and sticking open or closed. Especially since you have low mileage for the age of the vehicle. I have seen a Lincoln with every single fuel injector frozen shut due to the vehicle not being driven enough.
This car also has a Mass Air Flow sensor right near the Air filter box, these sensors have a hot wire on them that can get a little bit of carbon build up. It can affect fuel delivery. Auto parts stores sell Mass Air Flow cleaning spray. It's worth doing. It will improve your gas mileage and running conditions.
If you have any other issues or questions just ask.
