Transmission does fine as long as you are accelerating, but as soon as you let off of the gas and drop step to 50-60 MPH and dropping into second gear, it causes the truck to stammer and lurch until it's in second gear good and slower than 50 MPH. What can I do to fix this? Already checked the fluid and the filter and tried Lucas. Only helped for about 2 days. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

Have you checked to see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored? Also, does it feel like the transmission could be slipping or could it be the engine causing the issues?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

No trouble codes. Not the engine. Gearing in transmission tearing up.

Hi,

Does it feel like it is jumping in and out of gear or slipping? Also, above you indicated, ". Off of the gas and drop step to 50-60 MPH and dropping into second gear." Do you mean if you go full throttle, and it downshifts?

If it feels like it's jumping in and out of gear or slipping, it could be related to transmission line pressure or worn clutches. What is the condition of the fluid?

Let me know. If it is possible, record it with your phone and upload it for me to see exactly what is happening.

Take care,

Joe
