TRANSMISSION Hard shift and thump noise

When accelerating from a stop there is a very noticeable thump (I can feel the hard shift) coming from the transmission. The check engine light with wrench comes on, but there are no DTC codes available when scanned on my scanner or the dealer scanner. Changed the transmission fluid and filter, but had no effect. Can you help? Thanks Brian.

If the check engine light comes on with the wrench light you should have a code. Never saw one of those that did not. Most likely you have a bad line pressure control solenoid. They usually will see a p1811 when the solenoid fails especially if the wrench light comes on. If you drive it too long like that you will destroy the transmission I have seen it happen.
