When driving the car it would shift 1st 2nd and if you are passing a car, it would stay and 8,000 RPMs and not shift and that happen when I took off the throttle cable and shift cable.

Hi,

First, is the transmission fluid clean and full? Also, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running?

If that is the case, have the computer scanned to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes that could be related. Here is a link that explains how to scan the can-bus. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

If that is something you can't do, most parts stores will provide a general scan at no charge. I would at least try that.

Also, how did it reach 8K RPMs with the throttle cable disconnected? Could it have been something different that you disconnected?

Let me know.

Joe
