My car will not shift from second to third gear when I tried to drive it, I am trying to check the transmission fluid level but it is a sealed transmission, and since I parked it and haven't driven it I noticed when I started it up it has like a whining noise coming from it ( kind of sounds like power steering whine but I know it not that it has got to be the transmission pump whining like it needs more fluid) I was wondering how to do that or if I were to try to get the TCM to reset and just poured more transmission fluid in it would that fix the shifting problem?

Hello,

Checking the fluid level and condition should be the first step, when there is an issue with shifting.

There is a transmission fluid check plug located on the side of the transmission case. When that plug is removed the fluid level should be right at the bottom of the opening of the plug. When the fluid gets filled, you will have to fill it till the fluid starts to drip out of the hole.

I have attached the fluid checking procedure below for your reference.

Let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
