Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com. It sounds like it could be an axle shaft issue related to the CV joints. A simple test is to simply find an open area where you can turn the steering wheel fully left or right and drive in a circle at low speed. If you hear a clicking, you have a bad joint. Also, with tension off the axles, check to see if there is up and down play from the inner joint.
If you determine a joint is bad, it is more cost effective to replace the half shaft than to repair the joint.
If you find the joints to be in good condition, check for broken, damaged, or worn motor and transmission mounts.
Let me know if this helps.
Take care,
Joe
