This vehicle hardly takes up drive when engaged to Drive and cannot raise when engage to gear but raise when disengage from gear. I change the pressure solenoid A, B and D but it drives very slowly and cannot respond when depressed throttle, what is the cause? Valve body?

Hi,

When you place it in gear and try to accelerate, do the engine RPMs increase and the vehicle not accelerate?

Did you change the fluid in the transmission when you replaced the solenoids? It sounds like it could be a line pressure issue or low fluid. However, I need clarification of what exactly is happening.

If you haven't already, I recommend having the can-bus scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve the codes regardless of the module storing them.

If you have already done this, let me know what codes were retrieved. If you haven't, here is a link showing how it's done:

Also, I attached the directions below specific to this vehicle for testing the transmission line pressure. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

Thank you for your response.
No, the engine RPMs did not increase, and the vehicle accelerates slowly. But if you remove it from Gear and accelerate, it will increase the RPMs very fine. I suspect the valve body to be the problem. Supposing I have where to buy brand new valve body, I would have purchased it and used it to prove this test.

Hi,

Absolutely, it could be related to the throttle body. However, all the codes point specifically to a transmission issue. Since it accelerates slowly, it sounds like it is in limp mode.

I'm not sure what scan tool you are using, but you can control the shift position to see if it is in limp mode. Also, since the codes are referring to the pressure solenoids in the transmission, have you confirmed the pressure is where it needs to be? Something could be clogged.

I have all the diagnostics for the different codes you have. Let me know if you want them. Also, let me know if the same codes returned after replacing the solenoids.

Take care,

Joe

1. Absolutely, it could be related to the throttle body. Do I need to do relearn to see if solve it?
2. Since it accelerates slowly, it sounds like it is in limp mode. How do I control it with scan tool to see if it is in limp mode and how to correct it?
3. Also, let me know if the same codes returned after replacing the solenoid? Because the vehicle drives slowly, I didn't go on road test to drive on long distance and see if the codes comes back, I only set the two front tires up on jack support while test running it. As for the time I test-run it on jack support, the codes didn't come back but I didn't know if the duration I test-run it is long enough to make the codes comes back.

Hi,

As far as an active test, you need a scan tool that can perform the procedure. That's why I mentioned I'm not sure what you are using. However, if you look at pic 1 below, it provides the directions. And, no to the relearn.
