Transmission is stuck in sports mode

There is a button on the shifter but it will not go out of sports mode. This causes it to start our really slow in 1st gear. The green S light on the dash is off while stopped. As you accelerate the light turns on.

If the S light flashes, it is an indication the transmission control unit has detected a fault and you need to check the code. Flip up the passenger carpet and underneath it you would see a metal cover for thre TCM and ECM. There is a small sight window. Turn on ignition and watch the flashing of the LED light inside the window. Count the flashes and let me know the number of flashes. If flashes are delayed, it means a 10 count. Short flashes = 1. Code would repeat with a longer pause in between.
