My daughters 2013 sion tc transmission fluid has leak out caught it before she drove car like that. I’m going to change filter and pan gasket. Being some of fluid has leaked out how many quarts should I put in after changing filer and gasket?Does fluid stay in torque converter? I don’t want to put more than I need and blow new pan gasket and not to little to destroy transmission. I know procedure how to find level. Just need to know how many quarts I should add before starting procedure to attain correct transmission fluid level. I know you should drain the fluid then put that much back in but since a lot leaked out how should I proceed?

Thanks

Good job catching the problem before it caused internal damage to the transmission. Here are the instructions fluid type and how much the transmission will hold empty, there is no way to tell how much leaked out so you will need to set the level yourself.

Dry fill 6.5 liters (6.9 US qts, 5.7 Imp. qts) Toyota Genuine ATF WS

There is no dipstick, this unit I like to call the fill and dump, so you push fluid in from the fill plug and it will leak out, when it stops you are at the correct level. This guide can help explain and I have included instructions for your car in the images below.
