My transmission coolant line is leaking at the radiator pretty profusely. I was wondering how hard is this to change myself and do I need any special tools.

I looked up the cost of the transmission coolant line itself and it seems pretty inexpensive but I don't want to get myself involved in anything I can't handle with such a high mileage vehicle and getting in over my head. It's night time now but tomorrow I can add some photos to make sure it's the transmission coolant line I'm looking at.

These lines are not that complicated. They can give you trouble as they are most likely covered in grime but they are not that bad.

I attached the process for your review.

Let me know what questions you have. Thanks

Sounds pretty straight forward. Is it at all possible to remove the lines without dropping the transmission? I don't own a transmission jack.

Anything is possible, but I suspect you will have two issues. One, getting the line out if the support is still there. It is pretty long so it may fight you a bit. Next getting access to the line on the transmission. It is pretty tight if you don't drop it down a bit. If you have a floor jack, you can support it with that and some 2x4's and straps assuming you are doing this on the ground. It is not the best but it works.
