need to know location on 1994 F53 chassis.

It looks like the PCM handles the transmission operation:

Operation

In addition to controlling engine operation, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls transaxle operation. It does this by manipulating four solenoids -- Torque Converter Clutch (TCC), Shift Solenoid 1 (SS1), Shift Solenoid 2 (SS2), and Shift Solenoid 3 (SS3).
