Hello,

It sounds like the battery might be down on charge and may need to be replaced, here is a guide to test it.

Please let us know what happens.

Best, Ken

Recently my car randomly would not start after I park the car. I checked the batteries were dying. So I replaced the battery and had no starting problems.
Last day I started the car and drove for a minute or two and the car stalled. After restarting the engine would stall immediately.
I checked for fuses but did not find a clue.
Now it wont turn on for these few seconds as well.

Often a faulty crank angle sensor, but I would do a scan first to see if this code is set in the ECU.

You ran out of gas-maybe the fuel pump burned-up-Check the fuel pressure with a gauge to rule out the fuel pump and fuel filter-start here

I put the leads back on wrong after a sump removal. Was back firing with flames due to added fuel direct into the intake. Corrected the leads. Added more fuel direct. Then cranked engine with no response. Checked leads for power. There was power. Pulled plugs which had good spark and wet with fuel. Waited 1 hr and re cranked with no response repeated last process every hour.I can hear the fuel pump and it was backfiring on wrong timing.

Are you sure that the leads are on the correct way now? As ignition timing cant be altered as it is set by the ECU Pull the spark plugs and clean them, check all vacuum hoses are still attached and do not add fuel direct into throttle body, if pump is running just check that you have injector pulse, you should be able to feel injectors clicking as they operate but I feel that you may still have a firing order problem, they should be drivers side 2, 4, 6, pass side 1, 3, 5, and the coil pack front to rear will be 6, 3, 2, 5, 4, 1, also make sure the leads are ok and not cross firing where they are bound together across the front of the motor behind the alternator.

I have also cleaned and checked plugs, when I replaced them and cranked engine it backfired then 4 little fires then nothing at all.
So I pulled plugs and found them very wet, they dried a little oily so I sprayed them with etha, replaced and cranked, it fired a little and coughed.

Thanks for your help.

Why was the sup off and what did you do? Injectors will keep spraying while you crank so the plugs will foul up fairly quickly, check rail pressure is ok, a failed modulator will cause flooding and just to be sure do a comp test as well, we need to know that all basics are ok.

I removed he sump because there was no oil getting to the rocker gear due to gunge build up, I would say due to using diesel oil, the owner had filled the engine full of diesel fuel to try and flush it out so I drained the engine removed sump, cleared the blocked oil pick up and replaced sump.
I cranked engine over until oil was hitting the rockers, put covers back and have not been able to start since.
Thanks for your help.

Do a comp test I wonder if the lifters have bleed out with the use of the diesel in the oil.

Hi there,

You can get a code saver that fits into the cig lighter it uses a 9V battery and this will keep all codes and memory intact.
