I took my car to get it repaired and I was told it was the transmission. The car runs hot and it will not go into drive. Once the car cools down it will go into drive. The car has been back five times for the same things any suggestions?

Have it pressure checked to see if you have a head gasket problem then have a transmission professional scan for codes, because it may not be going into a high enough gear and causing the car to overheat. also check the transmission fluid if you can. However transmissions can act up like this work okay cold then heat up and stop working due to bad seals,or clutches inside it. If the mileage listed is correct then may very well be the transmission. You do not need to go to dealer for this any transmission shop can handle it.
