Transmission started slipping badly in all gears. I was able to get it home by pressing the interlock button. Flushed transmission fluid and it worked great for a few weeks then started slipping again. Replaced the filter and fluid (not a total flush)and it worked for a couple of days and then same thing. So another filter and some new fluid. Now I am slipping in forward gears until gear engages at high rpm. But now no overdrive and reverse is now working fine.

That description sounds like you have some crud from worn parts floating around inside blocking items in the valve body from operating. But with the slipping I would have the transmission pressure tested while on the rack. It is possible that there is hidden damage from debris or failed components from the earlier problems. A good transmission shop can test it and give you options much better than trying to test it yourself.
