Does a 2013-1015 Ford Explorer transfer case fit a 2008 Ford Edge?

Thanks

Unfortunately they do not. The Explorer I believe, has the 3.5L Ecoboost and the edge is a non Ecoboost engine.

These are very different animals and even if you got it to fit it would not communicate with the edge because the explorer uses many more inputs and strategy for it to operate.

If it were me, I would not try to swap these two. I attached a lot of info just to illustrate how different they are.

My apologies. I said Edge through the hole response but when I just saw Steve's response I realized I looked up an Escape. I still show they are different functionality wise but may bolt up as Steve mentions.

Thanks

I think the confusion is due to the part being called a transfer case on one vehicle, a power transfer unit on another and a power take off on others. Makes it fun to track parts. This unit should be nothing more than a bolt on part that sends power to the rear drive assist.

Thanks so much. Saved me a big headache from my boss with this info. I called shops off carparts pro where the case is locally listed. Searching a 2008 Edge, give me a bunch of options from 2013 Explorer, 2013 mkx, 2012 Edge 2010 Edge and 2014 Explorer. Do you know if the 2010 and/or 2012 edge fits the 2008 Edge?

The Edge should use the same unit from 2008-2012 as long as it has the same transmission and AWD.
