1996 Toyota Tacoma Two Wheel Drive Automatic 101000 miles

i have a 1996 toyota tacoma 2wd and lately here i've had a vibration while driving on certain Parts of the freeway and I drive about 30 - 40 miles a day to and from shcool. I had a brush guard so that I could put driving lights on the truck and I took that off and it doesn't vibrate as bad anymore but still enough to bother me. I don't think it's had any work done to it other than maintenance and I dont know if its the deep water puddles that I drove through a week ago and tore something up or if something is just worn out? I have new tires and I watched the guy balance the wheels when I got the new tires so i'm pretty sure that they are balanced correctly. I have checked a lot of things and havent found anything wrong yet. I'm just wondering if it's the road that has sometihng wrong with it or if I messed something up?

Hi $-Redneck-$,

Is the vibration speed related and happens only between certain driving speed?

If yes to above, the vibration could be caused by bad propeller shaft U joints.

So far ir doesn't seem to be speed related. The other day I checked all parts of the driveline and nothing seems to be loose or worn out. I do 75 on the freeway and the vibration comes and goes. A friend had it happen while driving her truck and it did the same thing. Vibrate every so often on the freeway and then stop. But it never does it when driving on a regular highway

Take note of the road surface. Some road surface would transmit vibrations through the vehicle making it rather uncomfortable.

Alright well I think that solves my problem. This last summer cal trans messed the freeway up so bad that it caused some guy to tip his motorcycle over.

Thanks.
