When I changed the oil for the first time, I had a really blond moment. I put a quart of oil into the windshield washer fluid reservoir! First I used a turkey baster to get out as much as I could, but it didn't go down far enough into the tube. Next, I put more washer fluid in, and sucked out the oil as it came to the top. Now, the question is will that be sufficient or should I put some kind of detergent in it to dissolve the oil that stuck to the sides? Will that help or will it damage the windshield washer motor Thanks from a red-faced blond!

Hi redneck blondie,

Mistakes do happens :)

Nothing to worry about. The motor is going to be ok, but the windshield might be blurred when you use the washer fluid with oil.

Some dish washing liquid would be able to clear the oil and help clean the windshield.
