My Inverter and pump need to be replaced. What would a ball park estimate be for the materials and the labor? Can I expect this to have damaged the car in any way? Should I be looking to trade this car in? I received a $4000+ estimate from the dealer.

I work on these cars, and for the life of me I have no idea why people buy them. They are ridiculously expensive to repair, they are not going to save money on gas, (the initial cost of the car), they are not going to save the planet, because the planet is fine, I just don't get it.

Hey Scotty,

I have a 2008 Prius that won’t start and no dash and mfd and it does’t lock n unlock from key fob anymore. I have changed keyfob battery. Headlights turn on and dome lights work when door opens. I checked voltage at front jump point n back at the batt. It’s 12v and all the fuses are good. What can I do next to diagnose the problem.
