Brakes problem
2001 Toyota Echo 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I just got my car State Inspection done at PEPBOYS. During the inspection they said I needed to replace the brake pads and so I agreed to that. After replacing the brake pads when I drove my car out of their service center I started hearing very squeky noise when I accelerate out of my front left wheel.

I take my car back for inspection and now they say the brake hose has collapsed and need to be replaced.

My question is - is it possible for a mechanic to miss a problem with brake hose during a detailed brake inspection? Also, I would like to know the reasons why a brake hose would collapse suddenly after brake pad change?

Please guide. Thanks.

HI there,

I don't believe that this is the cause of you problem, a break hose problem will not cause a break squeak, I would be more inclined to think that they may not have re machined the rotors or there is a minor problem with the pads, brake hoses do collapse, this is a bit hard to see as it is the internal wall of the hose that collapses and closes off, this is a gradual process and I really don't think that one can fail so quickly, I would be more inclined to just ask them to do a re check on their work first,
