I think the door open/close function works in reverse order. Probably you need to reverse the function. Is it working in same manner when you open and close other passenger doors.

If you have a electrical back ground you can do it yourself, open the door switch and explore with a meter the operation of the pin switch.

Otherwise go to a auto electrical shope to get it repaired.
It should not be a costly repair. Get qotation before start.
