I was told by the dealership I bought my car at that it was due for a 'routine' fuel injection flush at 48,000 kilometers, although they had not previously told me this at my last oil change. I was charged $150.00 for this, and they did it without consulting me. I don't believe this is in the manual as routine maintenance, and was wondering if it was even necessary.

Fuel injection flush is not a part of routine maintenance. If you didn't approve (meaning sign) prior to the service, you should not pay for it. There are some fine prints, though. Just make sure that you read the entire service agreement that that you signed.

While it is a good practice to perform the fuel injection flush, you can do similar work at a fraction of what you were charged with this
