Engine Performance problem
2002 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl 110000 miles

I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla with a dead engine I've benn told. After some research, it seems that year engine wasn't very good for Toyota. Can I replace it with a 1999 engine?

A junk yard would have interchangeability charts for engines year to year.

As far as 2002 being a dud, what is wrong with yours? I am not aware of any year that had significant problems.
