Transmission problem
2002 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Manual

I have 2002 toyota corolla which has 80,000 miles in it.
My Transmission needs to be rebuilt entirely.
Would you please help me to give me an estimate which I can trust onto while paying the car shop for this expense?
I will truly appreciate your help.
Second question is that I have just taken an extended warranty which covers for only broker pieces of transmission. Is there any helpful tips from you based on your experience to get the insurance claims passed smoothly?
Thanks for your valuable advice in advance,
Dave.

Probably your best bet is to source a good used trans from a junk yard. It will cost a lot less than a rebuild.

As far a cost for a rebuild, shop around and get estimates, try local shops and try to avoid chain shops.

I would also be concerned why the trans is out this soon. Was trans run out of lubricant? Clutch replacement is almost totally dependant on driving habits, but the trans itself should last the life of the car.

Extended warranties are contracts, and the terms of what is and is not covered should be spelled out in the contract.
