I have to jump start this vehicle to get it going every time I shut it off. While attempting to re-start all I get is a tic, tic, tic. Have had alternator and starter both examined, mechanics say they are functioning properly. However the battery says 12.2 volts yet wont even turn over. Warm, cold, or hot. This problem just abruptly arose, never had a problem before. Will jump start like a champ the second the cables are put on it? Any solutions?

Hello,

It sounds like you might have weak battery. Even though it shows good voltage it is not providing the required cranking amp to start the engine. So as you crank the engine the battery drain faster than it should and unable to start the engine.
But when you jump start it, it does allows you to start as the other vehicle provides the needed amperage to start.
Have the battery load tested, as that will put appropriate amount the load on the battery, just like it would when you try to start the engine.

You also might want to inspect the battery cable. As if you have corrosion build up it could have similar issue of not starting. Check for corrosion on the cable and the battery terminal.
Clean if necessary.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
