Hi,

I recently bought 2001 Camry ( from it's third owner).

I went to toyota dealer for check up. They told me "Struts need to be replace because they are toward leaking" and It cost around $ 2000.

It really too much for me. I am wondering what can happen to the car if struts start leaking? If that dangerous for passenger traveling in it.

Please reply me, I will really appreciate your advice.

Thanks

Are you serious, $2000. Wow I seriously doubt all your struts are leaking. Get a second opinion. In my experience you should not need new struts, some oil seepage from the strut is normal. Does it bang when going over bumps?

Thanks mastertechtim for reply.

I really don't feel any bang over pumps.

Dealer was saying that struts are going toward leakage.
Its mean they have seen some kind of signs but right now they are not leaking.

I just bought this car and don't want to spend money on it. What worse can happen if they ( struts) start leaking and I continue using it with out any replacement?

Thanks

Again wow. I have never heard of anyone telling a customer that their struts might stat leaking. If I was you I would not replace them. And for sure dont go back to the dealer again. Your car is so very common that almost any repair shop is qualified to work on it so dont think you are trapped to go to the dealer only. Im glad to have assisted you
