I tried this myself on a Honda with damaged steering arm, since no one wanted to align it, & I didn't want to replace the steering arm. Usually Toe In will cause wear on the outside; Toe Out, wear on the inside of the front tires. Of course no tire shop will recommend you do this, but some of us would rather fiddle with our cars, than go to a shop. Loosen the lock nut on your tie rod/drag ink or whatever and make an adjustment (say 1/4 turn). Log it and monitor your tire wear & repeat as necessary. I was able to equalize the wear across my tires, but the wear increased. Hope you have better luck.
