I have a Camry that has a horrible shake in the front end. The car has 225,000 miles, I'm wondering if it is the CV joints or boots, and how much it would cost to have a mechanic repair it. Also, I have a leak under the motor, but it doesn't appear to be oil, it looks like oil, what else could it be.

What color is it and the taste is the easiest way to find it out. Brake fluid is clear and has a very bitter taste, oil is black thick and has gas in it, tranny and power steering are about the same.

Hi there,

If the shaking is only when the brakes are applied, have the brake rotors checked for warpage, if all the time, you will have to have the steering system checked for serviceability, including wheel bearings, also make sure that all the engine mounts and transmission mounts are serviceable, Check that the front sub frame bolts are tight, As for the oil leaks, Brake fluid will froth up a little when hosed with water, oil will not, check the power steering reservoir for oil and the brake fluid as well. Wash the motor down and drive for a day or two and re check for leaks, they will be easier to spot on a clean engine.
