Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Toyota Camry 6 cyl 151000 miles

Hello,
I purchased a 93 toyota camry about 3 months ago, it was overheating so I had the pump replaced it stoped then started again. So I had the radiator flushed, this worked for about 2 weeks then it started overheating again. So I refused to take it anywhere else but the dealer. They said I needed to replace the heads, and the pump, or I could install a new engine. I checked into having a used engine put in the car, my question is will I run into the same heads problem with a used engine, if so is it better to replace the heads or get a new engine?

Hi there,

I would have your heads o/hauled have the radiator cleaned & flow tested, replace the thermostat, there is no guarantee that a second hand engine is ok, its a toss of a coin really, I would do yours that way you know what you are getting.
