Steering problem
1991 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car steering is hard on extreme turns.
Power steering pump was replaced 2 years ago.
Fluid level is fine and circulating.
Tested with front wheels off the ground steering is fine both in park and drive.
Could the axle cv bearings cause this problem.

Hi
Would you explain hard turning? Does steering wheel return to center after turn?

Wheels return to center after turn.
Wheel becomes hard to turn on about the last 50% of the range For example when making making a 90 degree turn from a stop sign or making a u turn.
First part of turn seems to be OK.

Think strut tower bearings maybe worn and binding in tight turn. Would not show up wheels off ground because no weight on bearings. Also ball joints maybe the problem.
