OK I HAVE A 98 TOYOTA 4RUNNER SR5 L4 ENGINE, ONE OF MY FIRENDS TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO CHANGE THE WATER PUMP CAUSE THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. HE SAID THAT HAPPEN TO HIM TOO. IM NOT SURE IF ITS TRUE DO I REALLY NEED TO CHANGE THE WATER PUMP, CUZ THERE IS A MOISE COMIN FROM THER. THANK YOU PLEASE HELP

HI there,

If there is coolant leaking from the small drain hole at the bottom of the pump the seal is failing and the pump should be replaced, if in doubt have a mechanic look at this and they will be able to advise you on what they see and hear, its a bit hard with out actually seeing or hearing this problem first hand.
